Membership
Since its inception, WIIS has grown into a network of over 1,500 members in more than 47 countries. These members include policymakers, educators, military personnel, diplomats, legislative aides, researchers, journalists, business executives, lobbyists, and students. Members are working on and interested in diverse issues affecting international security, ranging from non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), to terrorism, human rights, sustainable development, environmental security, and conflict resolution. As a member of WIIS you will become a part of a unique professional and educational network of individuals dedicated to the advancement of women in the field and enhancement of the international security dialogue.
Individual Memberships
All individual memberships include these basic benefits. However, because our membership is so diverse, we offer several different types of membership:
- Patron Level - $400 and above ($375 and above minus $25 may be tax-deductible)
- Sustaining Level - $125 (100 may be tax-deductible)
- Basic - $65 ($40 may be tax-deductible)
- US - Outside DC area - $50 ($25 may be tax-deductible)
- Overseas - $45 ($20 may be tax-deductible)
- Student - $30 (Non tax-deductible)
Institutional Membership
WIIS is pleased to offer a discounted rate for fellow non-profit institutions. A member institution may purchase five basic memberships (to be distributed among its employees). Member institutions and relevant employees will be listed in the WIIS Membership Directory. A non-profit membership may be tax-deductible as a business expense.
